Nasolabial Fold Filler

Nazolabial dolgu

Nasolabial lines or, in other words, nasolabial folds are the indentation lines on either side of the mouth that extend from the edge of the nose to the mouth's outer corners. Nasolabial folds which appear even at a young age and which become even more visible when the person smiles get deeper with age.

Nasolabial folds, which become more visible, make people look sad and tired. And that, in turn, makes the person look sulky and quite old.

Nasolabial folds filler is a convenient procedure that can be performed to fulfill the wishes of people who want to change the tired and sad expression on their face, that is caused by smile or laugh lines and to look younger while laughing and radiate positive vibes around.

Nasolabial folds filler is the least painful, most practical and most successful method used to get rid of deep wrinkles.

What is Nasolabial Fold Filler?

Nasolabial filler, the active ingredient of which, is hyaluronic acid is applied onto the smile or laugh lines. The miserable expression on either side of the mouth is erased and your smile and the area around your mouth look younger.

The active ingredient of these fillers is hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid’s primary function is to trap water inside tissue cells, making the tissues look fuller and brighter on the site where it is injected.

The filler is injected into different layers of the skin depending on the depth of nasolabial folds. Hyaluronic acid makes its site of injection fuller as it can trap water. The deep lines that occur due to loss of tissue in the nasolabial area is filled, skin gets rejuvenated, is lifted and looks plumper and brighter.

Who is Best Suited for Nasolabial Fold Filler?

Adult women and men of all ages can get rid of their smile or laugh lines thanks to nasolabial fold filler. Sunken cheeks make the wrinkles and depth on the nasolabial area look even more visible. Nasolabial fold filler is recommended especially for patients who have these conditions. Nasolabial fold filler is indicated for everyone regardless of age unless they have any disease which may compromise their health if they get this procedure done.

When is Nasolabial Fold Filler Procedure is Performed?

In case of nasolabial fold filler, people decide to get the filler applied when it is too late. However, aesthetic intervention that is conducted before lines deepen both enables us to solve the problem with lower amount of filler and prevents wrinkles from getting deeper.

Tissue loss and/or saggy skin which occurs on any point of face pulls all of the tissues down in time. Therefore, the earlier the vertical lines that are formed on either side of the mouth is intervened, the earlier the protection against early aging is ensured.

Nasolabial area is one of the parts of the face that is most prone to sagging at an early age. Therefore, intervening with the nasolabial folds at an early age is of great prominence in terms of aesthetics. To this end, lifting procedures that lift up and pull back the skin and adding volume to cheek bones are the steps that must be taken before the filler injection.

How is Nasolabial Filler Procedure Performed?

Nasolabial line area is a part of the face that is rich in veins. If nasolabial filler procedure is not performed by experts who are well knowledgeable about anatomy, intravenous injections may happen and that may cause the patient to face severe problems such as partial loss of tissue. Therefore, nasolabial filler procedure must be performed very carefully by experts specialized in this field and who make sure that sterilization conditions are met.

The skin is cleaned before nasolabial filler procedure and after the site of application is numbed with topical aneshtetic cream, the treatment protocol that is created specifically for each patient is implemented.

Nasolabial filler that consists of hyaluronic acid is injected after the analysis of nose, the inner lining of the cheek and edges of the mouth is conducted. The filler procedure is completed within 10 to 15 minutes following anesthesia.

The most important part of filler procedures is the aesthetic and golden ratio examination that is made before the procedure is performed. The entire face is evaluated in terms of aesthetic ratio before the nasolabial filler is injected. As such, we may decide to lift the face up slightly with cheek bone filler and reduce smile or laugh lines before the nasolabial filler. It enables us to reduce the amount of filler to be injected into nasolabial folds, which in turn, takes the load off of the skin and makes it look more natural.

Differently from other filler procedures of ours, in nasolabial filler, we do not aim to inject the maximum amount of filler at once. We add less volume so that it yields natural and healthy results. It is monitored whether there is any change in the patient’s smile and mimics. Patient should not worry about if the depth of nasolabial lines is not eliminated at once and should be informed that the result will be visible after the following session. The procedure is completed at two sessions so that the patient’s face has a healthy and aesthetic appearance.

Filler procedures enable us to create immediate effect. Immediately after smile or laugh lines are filled in, the deep wrinkles around the mouth become less visible but it takes a longer time for filler to take effect fully.

Which Points Must Be Considered Before Nasolabial Filler?

Before nasolabial filler injections, an assessment must be made in order to identify whether the nasolabial folds are caused by saggy cheeks or linked to genetic facial features and nasolabial folds’ treatment must be planned accordingly.

Which Points Must Be Considered After Nasolabial Filler?

The results are visible within couple of days after this procedure is performed accurately and completely. Patients can go back to normal life shortly after the procedure. However, there are some important points to which patients must pay attention after the operation.

  • Patient should not apply any cosmetic product on their skin approximately for a day following these procedures.
  • Patient should not carry heavy materials which may cause them to strain their facial muscles. They should not use their mimics excessively during the first days.
  • Skin should not be exposed to extremely hot or extremely cold medium at least for 10 days after the procedure. Patient should not visit places such as spa or sauna during such time.

The purpose of paying attention to such points is to ensure quick recovery of the area on which the procedure is applied. It should be kept in mind that patients may feel sensitive after this procedure and therefore people around them should avoid overreacting to the patient’s actions.

When Do the Results of Nasolabial Filler Become Visible?

The results of nasolabial filler injection are immediately visible. However, it takes about two weeks for effects of injection to go away and for filler to set in position fully in the area where it is injected. At the end of two weeks, the filler settles in the face, become harmonious with mimics and the face looks quite rejuvenated and young.

The rate of how quickly the filler takes effect may change from person to person. However, at the end of two weeks approximately, patients notice the effect of plumpness and elasticity on their face.

How Long Does Nasolabial Filler Last?

The time period during which nasolabial lasts changes from person to person. So far, it has lasted around 12 to 18 months in the patients monitored. Such duration may be shorter or longer depending on the environmental conditions surrounding the patient, how permanent the filling material is and whether the patient is a smoker or non-smoker. If the patient wants the filler to have a lasting effect, nasolabial filler procedure must be repeated before the smile or laugh lines start to appear again.

What Are the Side Effects of Nasolabial Filler?

Nasolabial filler does not have any known severe side effect. As the blood vessels are rich in the nasolabial region; slight bruising, redness and edema may occur frequently. However, these are expected side effects which are considered as normal. They go away completely within a couple of days.

One of the biggest inquiries about nasolabial filler is whether it causes loss of mimics or not. This filler is injected into mimic lines. However, it does not have any restrictive effect on mimics. Therefore, patients who get this filler procedure performed will be able to continue to use their mimics.
